Introducing traditional Chinese culture, music and arts. The Orchestra is based in Melbourne, Australia. Established in 1982 by a group of enthusiastic musicians, the Orchestra is the largest and longest-running Chinese Orchestra in Australia and has become a focal point for the development of Chinese music in Australia.

The Orchestra has staged more than two hundred and fifty concerts over the years. The Orchestra organised the concert "Melodies of China" and performed with the Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra and the Keat Hong Chinese Orchestra (Singapore) in Melbourne. They also performed in Hong Kong City Concert Hall, Temasek Polytechnic Chinese Orchestra in Singapore, Singapore Victorian Concert Hall, Melbourne Town Hall, Hong Kong Juvenile and Youth Chinese Orchestra at the Melbourne Town Hall.
